These projects aim to promote the new "Green Jobs” of the future and raise awareness and understanding of climate change related topics here in the Whyalla area. By assisting local departments, community groups, volunteers and conservation organisations to protect South Australia’s valuable natural resources and to promote sustainability within a Community environment.

 Whyalla Emerging Green Jobs Awareness (Business)


The focus will be on developing skills in:

· community awareness of the local natural, cultural and heritage history of the dynamic Whyalla region

· the possible future effects of climate change on this region

Practical aspects of the Green Jobs Awareness project will include:

· coastal vegetation protection

· environmental surveys

business, retail, waste management, energy efficiency and sustainability.

Participants will:

• Be offered Certificate ll in Business Services or Certificate ll in Horticulture

• Gain experience in sustainable land management practices

• Be exposed to potential employment opportunities
