Skill Connect Register

Contractors and subcontractors tendering for State Government infustructure contracts are required to demonstrate their commitment to employing trainees and apprentices as well as Aboriginal people and people with barriers to employment. Providers have been asked to meet a minimum of ten percent of labour hours on these projects to be undertaken from these groups.

The State Government has partnered with Group Training Australia (SA) to link these employers with job-ready people from the South Australia Works initiative related to the building and construction industry.

What is the Skill Connect Register?

Group Training Australia (SA)'s new online Skill Connect Register incorporates an Out of Trade Register which provides employers with a pool of job-ready retrenched apprentices who are seeking to recommence theirapprenticeships with a new employer.

This new initiative also links participants from South Australia Works programs that are related to the building and construction industry with prospective employers.
