About Us
The Regional Development Australia Whyalla & Eyre Peninsula - Whyalla Office (formally WEDB) with funding through the South Australian Goverment's South Australia Works in the Regions initiative established the Whyalla Career Development Centre (CDC) in August 2007.
The Whyalla Career Development Centre offers a free, independent and confidential career planning service to assist people* to develop the skills they need to manage their own careers and support an interest in lifelong learning.

* People who are out of education and employment will be given priority.

Career Planning for:
  • School leavers looking for direction
  • Retrenched workers wanting better skills to find work
  • Underemployed people seeking to increase their ability to secure more work
  • Unemployed people wanting to put a career plan in action
  • People seeking a career change
 
CDC services include:
  • Identification of career ideas, career direction and steps to achieve a career change
  • Unique ‘Career Works' software program available exclusively at the CDC to complement individual assistance provided
  • Assistance with creating a cover letter and resume that is targeted to specific employer and industry needs
  • Interview skills preparation with mock interviews organised
  • Study and training needs identification, career information, links to relevant organisations
  • Assistance in identifying employability skills and work strengths, building confidence in self marketing to employers
  • Assistance with Job Searching of all media, internet access, on-line applications and with forwarding resume to advertised vacancies
