NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT WEEKTAKE CONTROL OF YOUR FUTURE
The Whyalla Career Development Centre partnered with Career Employment Group, Uni SA, TAFE SA, Uniting Care Wesley PA, Interwork, National Disability Coordination Officer, Employment Plus, South Australia Works, Settlement Services, Access Working Careers and to host a week of events for National Career Development Week, 18-22 May.The week delivered five key focus days, they included; Career Journey, Aboriginal, Migrant, Apprenticeships/Traineeships and Disabilities. Specialist representatives were available to provide information on training, funding and employment options.60 participants attended through the week taking the opportunity to learn about themselves and reconnect with their careers, skills and ultimately be empowered.The Whyalla CDC was able to promote awareness of Career Development and assist participants develop the skills they need to manage their own careers and encourage an interest in lifelong learning.All participants will have a follow up appointment with a career practitioner in the upcoming weeks.
